Minutes of the Gopher Flats Sportsmen's Club for 27 October 2009

The meeting was called to order at 7:45 by President Dave Larson who called on Warden Frank Romagnino to lead the members in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Recording Secretary's Report (Minutes)
The minutes were approved as presented.

Treasurer's Report
The report this month was for both September and October. A box of shotgun ammo was found on the range at ASR/Moore&Moore after the shooting prior to the September meeting at the Moore & Moore facility. If it is yours, give Dennis Robinson a call. Your membership number is no being printing on club mailing labels.

A problem with the biodegradable clays has arisen, namely they are wearing the automatic trap at a higher rate than regular clays. GFSC will sell 25 cases to ASR. Accountability is better this year with only a few cases not accounted for. The orange birds will be saved for the skeet field.

Corresponding Secretary's Report
There was no Corresponding Secretary's report this month.

Membership
There was no membership chairman's report this month.

Committee Reports
There were no committee reports this month.

Range Masters'Reports
Trap—There was no trap range revenue report this month.

High Power Rifle Report—There were only five shooters at the match as a number of regulars participants were still at the Western Games/Creedmoor Cup matches. All of those shooters medalled at the Western Games. Mike Stern placed second in his class.

Pistol Report—The pistol match generated good revenue.

.22 Steel—No report.

The Challenge Shoot with Panorama was forfeited as only four shooters answered the bell.

Round Robin—The last Round Robin of 2009 is scheduled for December 13; 20 shooters will be needed for this event.

The rangemasters' reports were accepted as read.

CRC
The CRC received a letter from the Gas Company but no action has followed the letter. The Gas Company plans to lay down a membrane to prevent lead migration into the aquifer. The GFSC task at the upcoming work party will be weed abatement on P1, P2 and P3.

Old Business
John Manning announced that Gopher hats will be arriving in about two weeks.

Raffle
The raffle pot was $20 and it was won by Dennis Robinson who donated it to the club.

New Business
Nominations for the upcoming election were an order of the day for the October meeting. President Dave Larsen appointed John Manning as the chairman of the nominating committee. The committee presented the following nominations:

John Manning announced a plan to form a trap league beginning in January He would like at least 10 shooters to participate for it to become a reality.
